A pro-active search by Thai immigration for African people who might have had the Omicron variant of Covid-19 has come up empty.

Deputy commander of the IB Pol Maj-Gen Achayon Kraithong told Thai PBS yesterday that 150 out of 248 Africans from eight countries on the now restricted list had been traced and tested negative.

A further approximately 100 are being sought. These people were in Thailand for family and tourism purposes.

A further 500 who came from the continent from low risk countries have also tested negative.

Achayon assured the Thai public that all travellers coming into Thailand are being carefully screened.

It's either by the grace of god and sheer good luck or the testing methods are flowed somehow... my money is on the latter...

Good news and still managing to keep the new variant out.

5 days ago they said their tests are incapable of detecting omicron

So a huge 60 % are negative then.

I suppose that will have to do, as they obviously cannot find the other 40%

Maybe they should equal test the junkies for cocaine, pedophile, beg Packers, and  online scams like SPN shopping mall.

Yes, testing the African junkies, thieves and scammers is a wonderful idea ????

So they didn't find what they can't detect. Makes perfect sense.

So the obvious implication is that they now have tests that can.
