Whilst ever there is no spirit I believe there will be little Xmas spirit here. Usually I travel somewhere in Thailand and find a hotel that is holding a party, but been here in Chiang Mai now for 3 weeks and having problems finding a really vibrant social scene. Having said that it doesn't seem very 'dry' here at the moment.

I used to enjoy the Duke's buffet with all the trimmings & 2 hour seating.....

This year it's choose your entree & only one main = turkey OR whatever - not and....Kiss & goodbye like a regular restaurant meal....

Chiang Mai Smoke House has a buffet or delivery....See it's FB page....

Auf der Au has 2 places & great buffet style dining - but don't know about Christmas....FB page might have info....

Wild Hog had a buffet last year - not sure about this year....FB page might tell..

Edit - Wild Hog = yes but almost sold out - have prebook & deposit.... It's not on a main road, so you will need transportation.....

Holiday Inn are holding a Christmas Day lunchtime buffet.

Saw the menu yesterday - 3 pages of extensive goodies.

Beware the deserts if you're trying to lose weight!

Le Meridien and Le Crystal both have very upscale set menu Christmas eve and Christmas Day meals.  The Duke's on the Ping River is having an extensive buffet on Christmas Day, with many excellent offerings.

How much does the buffet cost per person?

They show 1090 baht per person, presumably tax and service charge (not very much) will be added.

Last year was an excellent spread so we've already booked for this year.

Christmas Eve.

The Dukes have the Christmas day, buffet, as stated above reservations needed. They also have a Christmas eve set piece dinner. Reservations not needed, unless a "large group".
