23 areas in Bangkok and surrounding provinces are experiencing air pollution today (Thursday), with the amount of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere exceeding the 50-micron safety level, partially due to weak air circulation.

According to the Pollution Control Department’s Air4Thai webpage today, the amounts of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere in and around Bangkok, measured at 9am, range from 34-64 microns, with over 50 microns in 23 areas.

The department said that the poor air quality today was predicted and will last until Saturday.

Useless governor and useless officials.

Does Thailand have any plans to phase out petrol and especially diesal fuelled vehicles which generate the PM 2.5 particles?

Does Thailand have any plans to enforce no burning on farmers in N and E Thailand which is now ramping up producing nitrogen oxide?

Apparently not!!!

Far worse in Hua Hin last night as smoke inundated the city. Horrendous pollution levels already and the burning season is just getting underway. It appears very likely we will break all previous air pollution records as we approach the peak in Feb- March when Chiang Mai once again raises to most polluted city on the planet status for the fourth year in a row. ????
