Music for me is so much about memories and this song reminds of of my junior year in high school. My friend - who was older than me - had a Volkswagen Beetle with a kick a$$ sound system and reverb. We drove that thing from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to go skiing and played the Stones (mostly) and some Blind Faith for the entire 4 hour drive. I met this incredible girl there from Chicago, but was too stupid to know she could have been my first lay. Nevertheless, I have fond memories of this time in my life, so sincere thanks for resurrecting that memory.

I like I Robot album, but I think this one is better.

Good stuff MD, I hadn’t heard this one before. Truth be told, my roommate owned I Robot and those were the only two songs I remembered. I’m sure it wasn’t to be blamed on my perpetually stoned/drunken state during most of that time. ????

DBath is absolutely right, music is inextricably linked to our memories, a time in our lives.

But thankfully it's more than just a nostalgia trip, so many of the great songs of the 60s and 70s, whether rockers or singer songwriters, inspire me to this day, whether it's a Pavlovian foot tapping or a  sing along to a wonderful tune.

Jim was right, music is our friend until the end.

The worst crime I ever committed was to play some rock n roll

lol
