One reason I chose to leave Australia was because of the Government and people like you. Couldn't be from the UK by any chance, had a lot of whinging Poms in Australia. haha... hilarious.... ... You came here because you have no game... don’t pretend its anything else. People who use phrases like ’nanny state’ are the first to start crying when they get slapped by a local and need ‘go fund me’ to pay for their medical bills....

No problems whatsoever until one day he reached down to get the dog's food dish to refill like he had done all those years and the Chow, for no reason, bit him on the face. He had to have 16 stitches and still wears the scar 23 years later. He loved that dog but without hesitation he had her put down. Exactly this... Owners of dogs which are generally considered dangerous never get this.... sadly, until its too late. I’m not talking about Jack Russells... they’re just usually like their owner, blissfully ignorant harmless little yappy mutts... It is larger more powerful and dangerous dogs which there really is no need for, at the very minimum there really needs to be a requirement licensing so that owners can prove they can look after such animals properly... but we’d still have these incidents because in Thailand whats a licence worth?... and a lot of idiots would still go for the ‘hard dog’...
Tropposurfer
I will say it again breeds such as this are bred and genetically focused to kill. Dogs like this owned only, and used for specific tasks and NEVER allowed to be bred and owned by the general public. You notice in military and policing applications these dogs are never used. Why is that? Its because the 'predation-instinct index' in such dogs is so off the scale that they are very difficult to train and the ratio of certainty of the obedience and control needed by specific task dogs sees them deemed totally unsuitable for such roles. They are only for killing. The story of how the dog was unsafe around 'strangers' indicated very poor training by the owners. The woman, who appears to have been a friend of the dogs owners, and I assume from the report appears to have known the dog too, was indeed foolish to enter the property until the owners had caged it. Having to cage an animal so as to keep visitors safe shows a complete lack of social responsibility on the part of the owners. I met folks here in LOS - Phuket and in Oz who had English pit's, staffies, and American pit's who were completely incapable of being out even on a leash as they were vicious to the point of behaving as if rabid and yet they kept the dogs, terrorising, endangering, and therefore controlling the entire locale, (subconsciously deliberate intention) everyone, every living thing that these animals could possibly get to. Having said that dogs do as they are bred and trained to do. So ... its not the dogs fault at all. Dogs if not socialised from a puppy to interact with human strangers, and other dogs raises the risk of violence from such dogs exponentially. As an ex-mental health professional I have seen with many owners of such dogs some interesting psychological traits coming through e.g. insecurity, immaturity, fear - using such dogs to 'protect' the owner, a latent desire to act-out violently, a latent fixation with and wish/enjoyment/glorification of violence, and the desire to be loved unconditionally by something and in the total unconditional love the dog gives the satiation of that very deep need for unconditional love that was not originally met. Callmeishmael
I see quite a few people saying that the dog should be euthanized or that he should not reach his second birthday. This, of course, would be the automatic outcome of a dog seriously biting a human in places like the US, UK, Australia or even France. However, I would be very surprised if this happened in Thailand. In a case like this, the owner will probably have to pay the hospital bills, but that will be all. Thai vets will not put down dogs for almost any reason, the police might write up a report, but they will not take any action. No city authorities will do anything about what they perceive as a private matter. If the owner or anyone else shoots or poisons the dog, they will probably get jailed or fined! In Thailand, the only reaction to a dog attack will be twittering by 'outraged netizens'!

Stargeezr
In Canada when a dog attacks someone the dog is usually put to death, and the brain is examined to see if it had rabies. In the Buddhist of Thailand however, this is not the practice and it should be. I am not sure of the law in the UDA but it seems to me that Thailand should think about the risks to the humans and not the sympathy toward the dog. Just my opinion of course.
