Frustration with the Thai University Central Admission System (TCAS) is growing four years after its launch, with students complaining it has failed to offer better or fairer access to higher education.

For some, their experience with TCAS has been so bad that they want the system banned. This month, TCAS was rocked by another setback when the personal data of 23,000 students was leaked.

Though most students still use TCAS to further their education, experts say problems surrounding the system should not be ignored.

After 4 years it's still giving problems.. they have been ignored in my book

So basically the rich get richer and the dumb get dumber. Actually its the same anywhere. School is supposed to offer opportunities. You've been born into the wrong family? Sorry, tough. It was your bad Karma... ????

I am sure like most things in Thailand a bit of financial persuasion and influence goes a long way to getting what one wants !

The system will remain clogged. The last thing the elites want is young, well-educated people.

There are very few Thai Universities where the alumni could be perceived as "well-educated", hence the reason those that can afford it send their kids overseas and graduates with Thai bachelors degrees end up working in Homepro or 7-Eleven.

Actually it is very simple - the rich and well-connected go to Chula, the easily misguided idealists go to Thammasat, the late developers go to Ramkhamhaeng, and the buffalo go to Rajhabat.

There - solved with a gross oversimplification..  TIT

This is a reason that my faculty at Mahidol refused to join the TCAS.  That decision has repeatedly been shown to be the right one.
