If you think enjoying Pad Kaprao (basil stir-fried meat) in restaurants or on the streets may be a bit ordinary, how about sending it off into space, or almost?

The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) and related authorities have launched an experiment in Nakhon Sawan province in which they sent Pad Kaprao to the atmosphere, using high-altitude balloons, to find out whether the altitude had any effect on the ingredients.

The experiment will be used as a model for future scientific research, particularly into space. It can also be used as a model for other experiments at altitudes of 30-100km above the earth’s surface.

Good, now toss it outside window to check gravity impact on ingredients.

Welcome to the age to enlightenment!

megalomania! what about sending a whole pig or chicken in the space, and check if the high altitude has altered the taste!

When i first saw the picture i thought it was "retired working for you" that sent it off.

I hope they can freeze-dry excrement in space... can you imagine being in a cramped space with that stuff?

Seems it's back to the drawing board.

They found the box but the Phad Krapao had gone. Only the rice was left.

Not a joke

Pat krapao with a fried egg on top is heaven sent. One of the world's best lunch dishes.

Scientific research?!?!?

Not since the Segway has there been such potential to revolutionize an industry. LOL
