Here's an article that is originally from the Wall St. Journal about Russia's attempt to convert the locals into happy Russians

In Occupied South Ukraine, Russia Tries To Build Loyalty To Putin

"Days after Russian forces occupied the southern Ukrainian city of Berdyansk, residents gathered in the city’s main square with Ukrainian flags to sing patriotic songs and tell troops they hoped they would go home. The protests grew daily.

They were soon detained by Russian forces, part of a month-long campaign of coercion, threats, propaganda and violence aimed at crushing the Berdyansk resistance and bringing the coastal city under Russian rule."

The circus continues

Kremlin spokesman says Americans captured in Ukraine committed 'crimes'

Washington (AFP) – Two Americans captured in Ukraine while fighting with Kyiv's military were "endangering" Russian soldiers and should be "held accountable for those crimes," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday in an interview with NBC News.

There you go, some of those long range missiles/artillery being put to good use:

Ukrainian missiles hit Black Sea gas platforms, say Russian officials

Russian officials have said Ukraine launched missile strikes against three gas rigs in the Black Sea south of Odesa, in an apparent escalation of Kyiv’s attempts to weaken Russia’s maritime dominance.

Seven people were missing and three injured after the strikes, according to the head of occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, who said a “rescue operation with the participation of patrol ships and aviation” was under way.

The three offshore platforms, the Boyko towers, had previously been seized by Moscow from Ukraine in 2014. Kyiv believes they are used for military reconnaissance and to help assert control of a larger portion of the Black Sea.

Russia blockading Ukrainian grain is a 'real war crime' - EU

Russia's blockade of millions of tonnes of Ukrainian grain is a "real war crime", says EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

"It is inconceivable - one cannot imagine that millions of tonnes of wheat remain blocked in Ukraine while in the rest of the world people are suffering hunger," Mr Borrell said. "We call on Russia to deblockade the [Ukrainian] ports."

Are they not waiting on Ukraine to clear the sea mines they set.

But not to worry,Joe's temporary silo's will shore up grain supplies in the EU while the African countries suffer, well at least until thousands make the trip to the EU to see where their grain has gone.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about another media stir up.

Ukraine is only the 5th biggest exporter of grain and Russia can supply Africa as well along with Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey I didn't think food was sanctioned.

Maybe because wheat prices are sharply up?

Stir up by the media? What media are you talking about, the West or Russian, both are reporting on it, or a stir up by the EU or UN?

Ukraine is a major grain exporter, last year supplying 11% of the world’s wheat exports, 12% of corn exports and 43% of sunflower oil exports.

That's without its 16% of the worlds maize and 10% of the worlds barley.

But you don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Millions at risk in South Sudan as Ukraine war forces slashing of aid

Drastic cuts to World Food Programme assistance will leave people ‘looking death in the face’ unless global donors offer support

The World Food Programme has said it is suspending food aid to 1.7 million people in South Sudan, as the war in Ukraine sucks funding from the world’s crisis-plagued youngest country and causes the price of staples to soar.

Grain production around the world goes up and down seasonally.

It's not about the grain, that is an excuse.

Ok it's hurting Ukraine's economy.

If countries can increase their military spending they can also increase their funding for world food supplies.

If they wish to.

First you say its an excuse, excuse for what exactly? Then you go onto say that why can't countries increase funding for world food supplies?

Make your mind up.

Food is being used as a weapon, even admitted by Putin's right hand mouthpiece on R.T. while she was next to her master.

20 millions tons stuck in Ukraine that can't leave, which countries have the shortfall to make that up especially as prices have skyrocketed?

Why is Russia stealing Ukraine grain and sending it to places like Syria and also offering it to Egypt. This is stolen grain from Ukraine farmers now being sold for Russian profit.

The EU has already provided package of 3 Billion Euros for food security across the world due to Russia's invasion and has just announced a further 600 million on top of that

Ya think there might be some connection between prices and supply?

Whilst many observers of Russia speculate about a possible palace coup against Putin, the post below considers how Western sanctions might cripple Russia's railways, leading to conflicts between regions and de facto separatism.

Yes there is a connection between prices and supply.

There is also a connection with input costs which have been rising since covid which your graph clearly shows.

Poor countries that had contracts with Ukraine for grain will have to purchase grain on the spot market now at greatly increased prices.

There is a lag time of several months between farmers seeing the need to plant additional crops and the first harvest.

This reduction in grain supplies comes on top of other reductions caused by drought and extreme weather events.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of this war.

Putin is crazy and will not give up. Someone make it happen, smuggle in a cheese sandwich with poison to Kremlin.
