Well, well.

Looks like those hoping that real and tangible sanctions wouldn't cause real and tangible problems have got a lot of egg all over their pretty faces.

Anyway we dont want to p**s Russia off because we need the Russian tourists even if they are ignorant and rude.

That's exactly right, Thailands only vested interest is any money they can leech off the Russians, don't want to jeopardize that !!!

Thailand should form another commitee to come up with a policy on Russia. By the time they do come up with a policy the conflict will be over, so no decision needs to be made. Thailand can then wash their hands of any moral commitment and stay in the midddle to collect the crumbs left over.

I reckon like most of the world they assume it's only a matter of time until Putin installs his puppet government in Ukraine, so saying anything critical of Russia does nothing for them. Never mind there may be a successful resistance and never mind concepts of right, wrong, sovereign borders, human rights, war crimes, and barbarism. Don't make waves!

I am not surprised by this Thai military governments response. All I can say is I'm disappointed with, the head in the ground, stance Thailand is taking.

The word APPEASEMENT seems to be particularly suitable in this situation, sort of like WW11, please leave us alone while you walk through and attack Malaya, and Singapore . What is not taught is how many Thais died on that damn railway

What do we expect, an unelected military-run government turning against a murdering invading tyrant!

Shame on Thailand!  (You will be remembered!)

Honestly it would have been much better to say nothing at all.

Talking-heads are incapable of silence. Whatever comes out is irrelevant and opaque at best.

Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai said today (Tuesday) that Thailand may need to fine-tune its policy on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but it will not rush to condemn Russia, like many other countries have done, because it will not help to improve the situation.

A very diplomatic response and IMO in the best interest of Thailand.

What politician would not love to be able to play both sides? Let's see if' it's possible.
