Thai Rath reported on a road accident in Muang district of Mukdahan in the north east of Thailand yesterday.

A six wheel truck careened off the road into a power pole in the Ban Khong Samran area at a bend during a rainstorm.

It was carrying construction workers.

Dead at the scene were Narong, 50, beside the Isuzu truck and App, 43, who was under it.

Six other injured workers were taken to hospital.

Police will wait to interview the driver of the truck after he recovers sufficiently from his injuries.

Those slippery roads again....

...Its about time the someone was held responsible for the rain - it causes so many of these accidents....

The solution of course is straight and covered roads with no u-turns and no traffic lights to jump... But I’m sure people would still find away to skid their vehicle off the road.

A bend AND rain! Too much really.

Yesterday I thought: what is the Thai word for aquaplaning?

It's one of the WiKi articles with no Thai language version.

Surprised?

Caused by rain and a bend!   Not bad driving? Or the lack of amulets in the truck.

How about the cause being not changing driving habits to suit weather & road conditions - Too much to ask I suppose

Not in Thailand, the driving is fine....    its the roads that are too slippy or the brakes that are not good enough... possibly an amulet was not good enough.

Its never anything to do with speeding, poor maintenance, sleeping, high-on Yabba, smashed up on lao-khao, caffeined up on M150,.......

Well it's the government's fault of course. Its those folk that have recently instigated the "rain making" flights again. ????

I agree but how do you fit 12 or 15 workers as seen often inside a vehicle ?

Yet another incompetent Thai driver and more construction workers killed and injured on Thai roads. I'm counting about 25 killed and injured this year alone and that doesn't cover the 'illegal migrant job seekers' who transport went off road. It's no wonder there is a labour shortage.

Well you Don't ,one needs a Van or Bus to transport people.

One can use a Truck for Animals Not people But here they may think that they are the same .
