Thai Rath reporters went to investigate after receiving video evidence of an illegal gambling den in Soi Suksawat 70.

The area lies between the police jurisdictions of Phrapradaeng and Thung Khru in Bangkok.

The locals said everyone knows about it. Tons of people arrive to play cards and other games in an old delivery depot.

They all fear a Covid cluster but can't do anything about it for fear of their lives.

They didn't dare report it because of "people of influence".

One person was looking after the place. The media used a term usually associated with either a person of influence or a police officer.

In their headline they went with "the people know - the police don't".

This might be ironic, notes ASEAN NOW.

police pretend "not know" as the place must be owned by one of them.... turn head and look the other way

An illegal gambling den allowed to run by those with influence...

Nothing is done because it is owned by the police same with the casino in Nongprue.

Of course! Amazing what a brown envelope can achieve, total loss of memory, what? Where?  had no idea...????
