agree, it works well and is very easy to manage once set up.

Actually you can start a business for 2 million in capitalization if you can find a Thai partner who isn't going to rip you off as the majority holder.  If they really wanted to simulate new business startup held by foreigners - end the 51% Thai majority holder clause  Allow foreigners to own the entire business.

They promote it as a win-win, but when it comes to farangs, nothing the Thai government does is win-win.  The dice are always loaded to favor the house.

Always one sided and inequitable.

The privileges for theFlexible Plus Programme members include a change in the visa type status from Privilege Entry (PE) visa to a Non-Immigrant (B) visa,

A privilege to downgrade  the PE visa, "B" visa has shorter validity, requires reentry permit,  no access to passport check priority lane. etc.

How many nomads have that? 0.1 percent.

Why call it a nomad visa if it doesn't apply or most nomads can never fit the requirements.

I think I might actually qualify for this.

Bear in mind, the number of retirement visa holders (sic) fell from 85,000 in 2018 to 35,000 last year. The elite visa program meanwhile has only manged to sell 16,000 elite visa and it can't possibly be covering the costs of administering the program. Basically, all this government is good at is driving out foreigners. It does that very well, however.
