I'm looking for info from someone who has personally been through Taiwan/Taipei airport recently. If you are transiting, waiting for your next flight, do you have access to the lounges or are they still shut off due to Covid? I see too many conflicting stories (it is, after all, the internet!).

Have just received a letter from EVA air.  The Taiwanese government has extended the Transit Ban until the end of May.

So you can't go through TPE until June 2022

80, 000 cases. Yes,  Eighty Thousand local cases a day, almost nobody is actually ill 99.7 percent mild or no symptoms. Yet, transit is still suspended at TPE until Sept 30 2022!  Covid zero and border restrictions do not work. But, their country their rules I guess they will "get it" someday or just remain closed, forever. The virus is never going away.
