A foreigner staying with his Thai wife on a yearly visit to Buriram got a rude awakening about gun crazy, infidelity rampant Thailand at the weekend. 

 

Kanya, 37, and the foreigner (whose nationality was not given) were relaxing at home when Phitphirun, 45, arrived on a motorcycle. 

 

A couple of years ago she had struck up a relationship with him.

Two months earlier Kanya had told him in Line messages that it was over between them as he wouldn't change his bad behavior.

 

It was 2.30 pm.

 

Phitphirun, a forestry official at the nearby Dong Yai nature reserve, said:

 

"Ok, you're splitting up with me to shack up with someone else, right?

"Ok you all die".

 

She didn't believe his boast as he drove off.

 

But a short while later he returned in a forestry department pick-up and was holding a shotgun. 

 

He vaulted the wall and started firing.

Kanya and her foreign husband managed to flee but inside the house were her sons and her bed ridden mother. 

 

She believed her 20 year old son from a previous relationship, Natthapong, came out of a room to confront Phitphirun. He was shot dead in the face. 

 

Pakham police at the bungalow, that is also used as a shop, found a Toyota with multiple bullet holes and evidence of many other shots fired inside the house in Hoothamnop sub-district. 

 

The shooter fled the scene and said he would surrender but had not done so yet.

 

His boss at the nature reserve Somsuan Raksat went to the police to file charges of theft of a civil service gun and vehicle. He said that the suspect was familiar with that weapon and had stolen the keys to the vehicle. 

 

Meanwhile the police have applied for a warrant on charges of murder, attempted murder, weapons offences and trespass.

It is more about being unable to cope with the ignominy of being dumped for someone else,

No of course not no Wester Ex husband would do such a thing us white skinned foreigners are the cream of the cream and such things you mention never ever happen in our own country. Its totally unheard of, actually i wonder if there are even white murderers and criminals.

So Kanya, married with a foreigner (and possible with children with him), struck a relationship with Phitphirun some 2 years ago and ended it 2 months ago.

She should also be blamed for her messed up private life. It sounds as Phithirun was her lover. It doesn't look as she married foreigner within the last 2 months.

Another point about her instability being 37 and having 20 yo son from the previous relationship shows underage pregnancy.

Certainly looks like she was banging this guy on the side so surprise surprise.

Why pick on Thai women and/or foreign men ...... same for all combinations.

In this sad case, the foreigner comes out a winner, as he no longer has to live with/support another man's adult son. And I'm betting the 'innocent son' knew all about the affair and didn't let on.

So many other women out there that he could have started again with, but then again if he's useless then it would just turn into another saga.
