A leading society figure is allegedly behind a near 200 million baht embezzlement scandal at two Bangkok temples.

 

It is said that he took advantage of the people at the temples by offering help instead stripping them of assets.

The man in the story has an international lifestyle with trips to Australia, the UK and the US.

 

He has a BMW 840, a Ferrari and a Tesla. In one picture he is quoted giving a glowing tribute to the Tesla brand.  

 

Sanook suggested the person responsible is a "disciple of Somdej Phra Wannarat".

To be fair all religions are utterly corrupt........when you have to pay huge sums of money NOT to go to a place that doesn't even exist and more to GO to a better place that also doesn't exist....I think the Catholic church has to take first place.

The ultimate goal of Buddhism is to become one with the universe.  Or in other words to cease to exist as an individual.

 

Of course what is practiced in Thailand is not Buddhism.   It's more of a conglomeration of beliefs.

Buddhism in Thailand is a business, pure and simple, with a price list for their services. And making merit it is based totally on selfishness, done to benefit number one later in this life or the next.
