Would you chase a nutter with a knife? And just as importantly, do you think you'd catch them before she was fatally stabbed? She was running away with him chasing her. I doubt most of us could have even kept up. 3
Popular Post uncommonomo Posted April 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 8, 2022 A lot of heroes commenting on this it would seem. Unless you're trained, and/or accustomed to this type of violent situation, you're most likely not going to immediately intervene. During an unexpected event such as this, most people are so shocked, they remain frozen to the spot; they need to focus their attention deciding whether what is happening in front of them is a threat, a joke, a harmless incident. "fight or flight" 6

If the authorities hadn't released this psychopath from prison that woman would still be alive. I never understand why attempted (failed) murderers get softer sentences than successful murderers. Nah, women like bad men, it's a choice they make. Sad she was killed, but dangerous to interfere in a man/woman dispute, I would have walked on by, not my business. 3

cheapcanuck Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 (edited) I wouldn't try to stop the attack without some sort of shielding and weapon. Besides, the RTP would blame any hapless tourist who step in for the attack. Edited April 9, 2022 by cheapcanuck 1

I would have to completely understand the situation, and know for a fact, if intervening, I wouldn't be injured. I have people depending on me being alive, and they are more important than total strangers. I'll take a risk in a situation I can control, like saving someone from drowning. But a nutter with a weapon, I prefer not to be the 'good samaritan getting killed' in the next news blip. Edited April 9, 2022 by KhunLA 4

Stargeezr Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 I hope that this killer either gets to spend the rest of his life in jail, or the death sentence. At least Thailand still has the death sentence. 1

Police revealed that he had left jail in 2019 after being convicted of attempted murder of his ex girlfriend. I read this kind of behavior so many times. Looks to me that the "standard procedure" to punish these perpetrators, ie. jailterm, is not deterrent at all. Something seems to be missing by these criminals that defines them as "Once a criminal, always a criminal" and other ways of punishment needs to be found ungently. 1
Sydebolle Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 No wonder that the longer the more Thai women decide to stay single. This chauvinism of male superiority has to be brought to a screeching halt. I hope this case finds a judge handing down the death sentence as there is no way to cure such sick minds and society has to be freed from such pr1cks - once and for good!
dallen52 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Saw a woman mowed down by a car and the BIB just drove on past it. Sadly TIT 2

Popular Post KhunLA Posted April 9, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2022 Let's say you get involved ... stop the attack, without getting injured ... but... ... you seriously injure or kill the assailant Now the family, or 'now victim' sues you, for loss earned income to their family. Presses criminal charges against you for battery leading to injury or death. and your witness, has returned to Cambo, and everyone else, doesn't want to get involved. Yea ... you're F'd Either very expensive or very expensive w/jail time, as it seems, anything causing death here is a crime. Oh wait ... you did get injured, and seriously ... oops. 3
Skeptic7 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Been away from current events for 3 days and NO surprise that yet another story of a rejected, pea-brained, ill-equiped, overly sensitive, useless fragile Thai man-child senselessly murdering someone because they told him something he didn't like. Throw this piece of ???? in a wood chipper feet first and sell tickets! ???? 2

Mikimoto Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Heat of the moment split decisions can either make you a hero or another victim???? I have been both in these situations, and in one instance could easily cost me my life for someone who, it turned out, was an ungrateful criminal. I can understand people not helping, but my nature would not have let me do nothing. RIP poor lady???? 2

Of course not One day my girlfriend was having a complete meltdown while driving the scooter, me on the back. Crazy shouting and swerving, as I didn't feel like falling off, I turned the key off and took it out. Still crazy shouting and jumping, so I restrain her by pinning her arms to her side. As she's wiggling and screaming, two Thai guys come up and ask if she needs some help with the foreigner. I let go, and she promptly jumps off the scooter, runs to the side of the road and picks up a rock. The Thai guys run off, with her chasing them and waving the rock in the air. Completely forgot about being angry with me, funniest thing I ever saw! Edited April 11, 2022 by BritManToo 1
