Mai Root police in Khlong Yai, Trad, eastern Thailand, were called after a woman was shot at a house in their jurisdiction around midnight Saturday.

Nitaya, 19, and her navy scout boyfriend Phichit had been drinking alcohol together at the home of Nitaya's elder sister Athitiya, 20.

The elder sibling heard a shot ring out and found her sister shot in the neck. Her boyfriend jumped out the window and headed off in the direction of a trash dump.

The victim was grievously hurt and is in Khlong Yai hospital.

Thai Rath reported later yesterday that the assailant, dressed in black with black shorts, was still at large.

People were urged to call 191 if he is sighted.

Just another local romance story  . . .

Lt. Col. Pichit Manakit, a member of the 536th Marine Corps Ranger Battalion, surrendered at 9.00pm last night at the Mai Rot Police Station, Trat Province.

Mr. Pichit said he shot her because of his lack of patience, as she does not help work to make money. She also took the car that belonged to his grandfather and pawned it, and later her sister took the car and sold it.

And yet another one! The Thai male rearing here needs a total reboot and updated version, cuz all previous versions are defective. :post-4641-1156693976:

I know...I know, so save me the apologetics. I'm a Thai basher and this sort of senseless, murderous violence for damaged ego, rejection or simply dealing with common everyday life experiences happens everywhere with the same frequency. NOT!
