Pharmacies recommended/to be avoided - Sukhumvit 10 area..

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to buy some of the generic equivalent of Cialis, Tadalafil. I believe it's marketed under the name "Apcalis" here???

I have a prescription for 5mg generic Tadalfil daily back in the UK, however I'm going to run out of that fairly soon because my visit to LoS is overrunning by a couple of months. So need to restock . Would prefer to purchase the 5mg daily if it's available here and priced reasonably but willing to cut the 10mg or 20mg pills if required.

Any recommendations for reputable pharmacies in the Sukhumvit area (I'm near soi 10)? And roughly how much should I expect to be charged (always aware there are going to be potential rip-off merchants)? As a guide price, I pay just under £23 for a 28 day supply of 5mg generic back in the UK.

cheers.....

I'd suggest you go to a Boots or a Watson's to find out what the full price is for a genuine product.

Use that number to figure out if you're getting a good price.  Or you may just decide to save some time and the risk of a fake, and pay the rate.

In that area, it's hard to swing a dead cat without hitting a pharmacy.  And you used to be able to buy Cialis from street kiosks all up and down Sukhumvit each night.  Leading me to suspect there was a market for fakes, that may bleed over the small pharmacies.

Edit:  I always bought my important prescriptions from Boots (or the hospital).  I paid more for the peace of mind.  Occasionally, I'd buy my Omeprazole wherever I was when I ran out, but even with that, I had the best results with Miracid brand.

I believe this products are not available over the counter in Thailand, so would not be stocked by the likes of Boots and Watson.

I've always found the pharmacy in Foodland soi 5 to be very good. Prices are fair. Generic brands (Not fake) are always worth considering.

Can confirm this. Otherwise the one in Central Chidlom Supermarket. No chance to get a fake from them. There are 3 pharmacists.

Watsons is NOT a pharmacy

I stand corrected...  I thought I bought prescriptions at a Watson, but it was probably a Boots.  My normal pharmacy was the Boots in Exchange Tower.

I always figured the odds of getting a fake were lower in a multi-national chain than in a one-off shop.  Especially given the preponderance of Sukhumvit kiosks that sold obvious fake ED meds in the wide open.  Reduced when they cleaned up Suk, but they never seemed to go away completely.

Thanks for the heads up kennw ????

Took a stroll up to there today and found them straightforward to deal with. Paid 800 baht for 8 *20mg generic Tadalafil (brand name Apcalis) which is only a couple of pounds more than I paid at the most competitive online pharmacy back in UK.

Packaging and leaflet looks genuine so hopefully all good. They didn't offer a bulk discount as far as I could see. Sold in packs of 4 at 100/baht per 20mg tablet. They don't sell the 5mg daily ones I mentioned.

I second this.  Great pharmacy.  Probably the best in Bangkok.

Do yourself a favour and go to front door of Siriraj hospital. There is Petcharat Pharmacy just opposite the gate. Very near the pier. There are a few more similar pharmacies there but haven't checked them. They have anything, and their price is at least 50% lower than elsewhere in Bangkok.

If you don't want to take a taxi there, you can go there with a boat (3 baht still?) from pier at the corner of Emerald Buddha temple. Pharmacies are on the left side of the road after arriving to the Thonburi side of river. There's a map on the site that above URL links to.

That's a real pharmacy (and a very good one). They are not selling illegal stuff and they are not geared towards foreign sex tourists

I go to this pharmacy all the time, always got genuine products, not sure if they have Cialis either, never asked. It's a bigger pharmacy though so I am guessing they must have it, they have tons of staff, and pharmacist speaks good English. Their prices seem fair, even their protein powder is cheaper than it is on shopee

Pharmacy in tops supermarket at Central Chidlom charges more for medicine, much smaller and the guy doesn't really speak English.

One of these shops wanted 2000Bt for a Cialis packet of 4, while a sidewalk vendor on the sidewalk of the Sois from 7-11 wanted 200Bt. Both packets were exactly the same. Wonder which one was the fake.

FYI....Cialis is the official Pfizer branded product. However, it is no longer protected by a patent anymore and can be manufactured as a cheap generic. The compound is Tadalafil. They are all the same thing, provided the manufacturing is done correctly.

Branded Cialis at 2000 baht is probably not too far off the mark tbh but you're paying for the name. And it could just as easily be bootlegged as a generic.

I am the OP and I bought generic Tadalafil, sold here as brand name Apcalis (made in India), for 100 baht per tablet at the pharmacy kennw mentioned. No problems at all.  I have a prescription for it in the UK and that's about right price compared to what I pay in the UK. I have my doubts it's gonna be 50% cheaper in a legit pharmacy in Bangkok but happy to be proved wrong.

Anyone buying from a sidewalk vendor needs their head examined - even if its legit, being kept in hot temperatures for a prolonged period isn't going to do it much good (needs to be stored <30c).

Not a sex tourist btw, not that matters at all, but my logic tells me a pharmacy near Suk Soi 4 dispensing dodgy ED drugs would not stay in business too long as word got around. They probably sell more of those than most of the other stuff in the shop ????

Really? Nowhere in the UK sells genuine Tadalafil for 400 baht per 8 * 20mg tablets, nowhere near. It's around 700 baht for 8 and that's using the cheapest online pharmacy in the UK. I get a discount for buying bigger quantities because I have a prescription.

You say Diamond Pharmacy will sell it for 400 baht for 8 (50% of what I paid). I need to buy another 30 or so 20 mg tablets. But not inclined to travel half way across BKK (I live in Suk area) unless someone can verify by means of having bought it there or another place that I paid double the going rate for genuine Tadalafil in BKK.

Sorry,  my mistake,  i misread what you bought. I thought you bought 4 tablets.

You paid the going rate.

Difficult to get it cheaper in Thailand.

BTW I know nothing about drug pricing in the UK. In the EU, 1,57 €/20mg tablet
