Arriving passengers are unable to identify their hotels on the small boards of the understaffed counters and long lines are forming with some complaining online that they waited close to two hours until they finally get on their way.

In response, the airport authorities have now added nine additional counters to stem the onslaught of passengers at peak times but worse things might wait around the corner as Thailand readies to replace the arrival PCR Test/Hotel Stay with a quick test at the airport in a few weeks time.

Yeah, they are legion

Chaos At Bangkok Airport Arrivals Area.....how can this be allowed to happen (rhetorical).....imagine after a 12+ hour flight........ and this is what awaits you..........

The photos and videos on social media highlight this issue, compounded pre-Songkhran by a high level of departures.

 

IMO, they'd be better off requiring a pre-departure test, and doing away with any arrival tests, or SHA+ requirements. Deplane, clear arriving Immigration, fetch checked bags, clear Customs, get in a taxi (or other ground transpo) and go.

 

The current system just wasn't built for ten + thousand daily arrivals. And you can't throw more people at it, there's no room.

 

So restrict the input (Thai Pass), or streamline the arrival.
