Is a Thai licence required for an electric bicycle?

Featured Replies

The header asks the question.

No. But in the future for sure - especially with the high powered motorbike looking types out there.

No need for Thai DL but you can still get cover with CTPL 343 bht.

I use to have my bicycle insured in UK not sure about Thailand.

For a bicycle no CTPL I assumed OP was referring to electric motorbike.

I wpuld say it depends on the bike.

If its 6k baht low powered then no its a Toy.

If its a 4000w 100mph bike/scooter then undoutedly a different category and may well need more paperwork etc.
