BANGKOK, April 28 (TNA) – The minister of natural resources and environment has warned a YouTuber against creating a wrong mindset among viewers for catching and keeping 15 hermit crabs.

He said legal action was possible if the content creator caught the animals in a national park.

Oh please.......grow up.

Yes its wrong to take a creature from its natural enviroment. But throwing around threats and being all theatrical is pathetic.

Dont try to educate, just threaten.

Me dad ( God rest his soul ) used to keep saltwater tropical fish, that included a hermit crab, he was very proud of this particular specimen, until he came down one morning & found it munching on one of his favourite tropical fish, not a happy bunny at all ????????????

As an aside, it's very difficult to keep tropical saltwater fish in a tank, the PH level, the acidity and salt content have to monitored constantly, anyone who has tried or has currently has them will confirm the difficulty.

15 hours ago, Thailand said:

Crabs can be a problem!

Yes, I had the crabs in my Vietnam days, scratch like mad anywhere there was hair. But we are talking about a different crab, I was told that the hermit crab doesn't taste very good so why would there be a problem?

More fake outrage from know nothing nitwits. After all, the hermit crab population in Thailand is down to only 97 billion. God forbid someone catches a few.

Just another example of a toxic, "past it's sell by date administration" doing nothing for the people, and focusing on all the wrong things.

As a young lad ,I remember going to the seaside , collecting

crabs , shrimps , starfish bringing them home in a bucket ,

thinking they would survive .....only to have a stinking mess

in the bucket in a couple of days,  but later in life I did learn

how to keep saltwater fish and Invertebrates, and in fact

turned it into a business ,importing from all over the World,

and enabled me to visit many collectors .
