Birthday surprise: Thai man takes cake to his wife but finds her in bed with a Burmese compatriot

Thai Rath reported that a Thai man called Natthapong, 24, had been living with his wife Ni NI Aung from Myanmar for six years.

 

But the trouble caused by the pandemic meant that he decided to return to his hometown of Phon in Khon Kaen to ordain into the monkhood to ride it out. This would please his parents.

 

Meanwhile his wife stayed in the south to continue working at an industrial estate. 

 

However, yesterday in the middle of the night he decided to surprise his wife with a birthday cake as it was her 32nd anniversary.

Arriving  armed with a small cake at the second floor door of an apartment at Wilairat Apartment in Muang district of Pathum Thani he saw a man's shoes.

 

He broke the door down and found 26 year old Myanmar man Naing Ko Ko Ye in bed with his wife.

 

So he produced a knife that he always carries with him and stabbed his rival several times in the abdomen. 

 

Naing fled the room in his underpants. 

 

Rescue workers found him in a fifth floor apartment opposite Wilairat after following bloodstains.

He was treated for several stomach and defensive wounds before being taken to Pathum Thani Hospital.

 

Natthapong took his wife hostage into the toilet of the other apartment.

 

Police used a rescue worker called Nithan to negotiate with Natthapong to get him to give himself up.

 

At one point Natthapong thought Nithan was a cop and went to attack him but was soon convinced that he was a rescue worker.

 

After two hours he surrendered to the custody of the Pak Klong Rangsit police.

 

He has not yet been charged as police are waiting on medical reports on the state of his victim.

So many of them freely carrying knives and guns, no control, police not bothered and not interested.

I can understand how being stabbed to death might spoil their holiday.  At least they have ignorance to claim in their defence.  Perhaps the husband is OK with it, or perhaps he doesn't know.
