Has anyone gone to immigration to extend their ONE YEAR permission recently ?   I use the money in the bank method so never had a

problem as far as that .    Just want to know if any "new"  requirements being asked for now .   Also,  are they just accepting walk ins or do we need to make an appointment.    Thanks     (  THIS IS FOR EXTENSION  based on RETIREMENT )

Being unable to get a sensible answer about appointments from my IO by phone, I booked one anyway.

Despite being there at the appointed time, 1pm, we were given a queue number and had to wait about an hour to get seen. The (marriage extension) process was listed to take 1/2 an hour, but lasted 2 hours. Got out of the place at 4pm to start the 125km journey home.

Glad it's only once a year.

I did mine on Wednesday 27 th , from getting letter at

the bank ,9.30  driving to immigration , getting extension

and walking out at 10.50 , it was very easy and quick,  just

used the same papers from last year, nothing new.

I was there on Thursday... there were no overwhelming crowds and all looked fluid. I would guess you will have no problem whizzing through...

Always feels nice to get that out of the way...

I use an agent to circumvent all the preposterous requirements. It costs me about 14 thousand baht every year to get my extension of stay based on retirement. My landlady is my agent and takes care of everything.

thanks ...... that website sure worked !    i remember when we had to get up a midnight to book an appointment a month in advance.    or go at 5 am to promenade.    so basically so many people are not here anymore... or coming....   that getting immigration services are easy once again

A couple of points to note:

1.   You can renew your extension up to 45 days before actual renewal date.  I always do mine on the 44th day just in case immigration become a little pedantic if I do it on the 45th day.  Just being cautious.

2.  You can then make your online  appt 30 days before the 45th day, or whatever amount of time you wish within the 45 day time frame.

In other words, decide when you wish to renew your extension, count back 30 days prior and make the appt.
