Thai Pass May 1st expat problem

Featured Replies

I'm trying to apply for the Thailand Pass and I pay tax in Thailand, so I shouldn't need the insurance.

I'm stuck on this page, and it won't let me proceed.

Anyone else had similar and thanks in advance for help.

You may be paying tax but are you paying social security

You should check with whoever issues your work permit (if you are working) or employer in Thailand

If you are not paying social security then you are not covered and the universal health care is only for Thais

So if neither of the above you need some private health coverage

I have Thai health insurance coverage and my insurer provides me a letter confirming the coverage, uploaded to Thai pass - job done - did this last month coming back from Singapore  - no problems

Thanks. I do have private health cover through work, so I will try that.

Is there a button/process to upload your own insurance?

Yes, and will try that. Plus there's a button to buy insurance. But nowhere to enter social security details

Under the old system prior to 1st May I took a photo of my social security card and uploaded that. It was accepted.

At the end of process there is a place named 'other' upload there.

Thanks but it needed a policy number.

I bought the cheapest policy from the links they provide (650B/30 days) and it let me proceed.

Fingers crossed!

Well, it worked a treat. I got approval the same day, and 4 others I know who also applied all got theirs at the same time... so maybe someone in the system just hits 'approve' to 1,000s at the same time... which was 10.30pm on a Sunday of a long weekend.

Can get a online SS card if you are in the system and up load that it has the proper QR code imbedded in it

Same problem here from US.

Disable security software controls on computer till completed.

Or use an older computer, I did.
