Monitor lizard blamed for failure of Bangkok water pumps during heavy rains

A monitor lizard was found in a large water pump in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district yesterday (Wednesday), disrupting its operation and that of three more in adjacent areas and leaving them unable to pump floodwater away during the heavy showers which have been falling since Tuesday night.

Thailand to consider further easing of COVID-19 restrictions on Friday

The easing of restrictions on entertainment venues, such as bars and pubs, readjustment of COVID zoning and the lowering of the national alert level, from Level 3 to 2, are expected to be considered by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday).

Over 167,000 officials, volunteers to support Bangkok’s elections this Sunday

More than 167,000 officials will be deployed by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) at 6,817 polling stations, 50 district offices and City Hall this Sunday to ensure smooth, safe and secure Bangkok gubernatorial and council elections.

Bottled palm oil price soars to over 70 baht per litre

Despite appeals to palm oil producers, by the Commerce Ministry, to maintain their ex-factory price at between 65 and 68 baht per one-litre bottle, the price of bottled palm oil has soared to over 70 baht per litre in most markets.
