samut prakarn immigration experience - not even toilets available for people

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post
Just want to rant about the 'new' temporary immigration office of samut prakarn

NO TOILETS available for people applying for anything - toilets strickly for personel only

the nearest toilet is paying and at the very end far away at a market...

better bring coins or you cannot even enter that one either

so I went recently for my 1 year extension... I already did the paperwork a month before

where the officer talked besides me, not to me, but in Thai only to my underage child that had to translate <deleted> papers they needed extra this time...

since the 90 day online report finally worked for me now TWICE in a row, after 10+ years of nothing at all

at the last counter, they asked, in THAI ONLY, for this residence paper... never heard of it

I showed them my PRINTED 90 day online report

and the COW did not even know her job or cannot read ENGLISH as they pretended this was not the paper they wanted

STRESS for 30 minutes as nobody explained what this damn paper was

go sit down

oh.. 30 min later, they made one for me ... guess what..... a hand written 90 day report STAPLES on my last page of passport...

oh I forgot I printed my documents... as I always do... and I got the papers from the official immigration website

but guess what...   I HAD TO REWRITE everything by hand.. because their forms you can download are OUTDATED

well one new extra SIGN here thing on another place, reason enough to redo EVERYTHING

the xxxx moved to a new place but still as <deleted>ty as ALL MY IMMIGRATION experiences for SAMUT PRAKARN...

  • well atleast those 10 passport holder don't have to worry about toilet

  • He's doing it legally & correctly where he actually lives - and not a made up address!   I'm surprised the "Dr" is not along to tell him to use an agent in future.

Well i forgot to add

That it took 1++ hour for them to just stamp my passport with my remaining 11 months on the second visit a month later even it was not crowded just after their precious 1 hour lunch break

Agents coming in and out with 10 passports in a few minutes , but hey no corruption right...

They extorted 17,000thb out of me for an employee's work visa renewal several years ago.

Never again.

Immigration in thailand isn't friendly

Immigration throughout Thailand is a very toxic organization. I do not think they like foreigners at all.

I have stopped doing the marriage visa. I just do not even know what to say about the process. I felt like a street dog by the time I left. After hours of paperwork, copy after copy after copy, each page having to be signed, and then being grilling by the surly officer, I literally felt like a street dog. The level of disrespect that immigration shows married couples here, and foreigners in general, is totally uncalled for, beyond the pale, and inane. The copy woman, the guy sorting our papers, they were all nice. But, the officers? Such sourpusses. The woman who was helping us was so difficult to work with, when she finally rejected us over the tiniest thing she did not like, after nearly an hour of reviewing every document with a microscope, so to speak, and said NO, very loudly, and I responded by saying YES! YES, you are going to do this. YES, you are going to do this right now. YES, you are going to stop saying NO to me right now. This ends now. She looked at me and did not know what to say. I asked for the manager. The top brass came over, and we had it sorted in 30 minutes. Took nearly 3 hours. And as usual, it will be a month, until I have final approval. Is it worth it? NO. It is my last marriage visa. I have gone back to the retirement visa.

I would leave the country, before I subjected myself to that abuse one more time.

If you don't want them to speak Thai to you, don't take a Thai along, unless your extension is based on having a Thai child of course. That just gives them an easy way out, seeing that you brought your personal interpreter with you.

First time I went there for an extension in 2008 a very rude IO tried to find an excuse for not doing it. In the end she said they did not do them there! told me to do it in Bkk, even though we lived in SP. When asked her why they had the forms then she said to the mrs she did not know how she could be with somebody too stupid to understand the rules. The old cow retired not long after.

The only problem with them recently was last year insisting to see a TM30 before giving a queue ticket then another time the TM30 report not recent enough to do a 90 day report, going in a couple of weeks, bound to be a problem.

Sanmut Prakan is a suburb of Bangkok.

You might consider establishing a legitimate alternate address in Bangkok and do your extensions at Chaeng Wattana.

In 50 years of doing extensions (work, marriage, retirement) at Immo/Bkk I have never been asked or pressured for a bribe.

Also, the appointment system ensures that you will get a professional and polite Immo officer.

One of the many joys of living in Suphanburi is the immigration office, always polite, helpful and efficient.

Did my extension based on marriage on Tuesday, a junior officer checked all of our paperwork and glued our pics to A4 for us then ushered us inside to another IO who quickly processed it.

I always ask for up to date documents and a checklist on my last 90 day report before the extension is due.

Yesterday we had our home visit which was quite brief, amicable and efficient. We’ve never been asked for any illicit payment.

Samut Prakan is a separate province, nothing to do with Bangkok

I have never had a problem with immigration officer's when submitting my documentation for extension of stay 18 years now. I should also mention that I'm a compulsive liar.

It's the same for me in Trat., and they have 2 toilets one outside when closed for lunch and one inside, pure luxury.

Several years ago Though the home visit "we pay 'hic' :burp: felly to come'' ''No you don't it's free for you, and anyway you wanted to come and i didn't invite you'' Off they went dog snapping at their heels, never been asked again.:coffee1: The following year the phone call to my missus ''him not drunk this time'' I had told them about last year.

Not possible in my local office

The forms are not available for you to help yourself, they have to be asked for, and my passport was checked, presumably to ensure that I'm entitled to them.

That's the problem everyone of them seems to have their own

rules ,

There is a toilet on the ground level just a few metres away from the stairways heading up to immigration.

Why?

  • 11 months later...

S.P. Immigration is a PITA for me because only accessed by narrow staircase and I walk ( poorly ) with a cane. They also keep changing the parking lot around, though don’t know how much imm. has to do with that.

At the original office I had inquired if my bank book showing the requisite foreign origin deposits would suffice for proof of income at renewal time and was assured that it would be fine. Come renewal time they said at the new temp. office that it was not acceptable and given a xeroxed copy of the “rules” with no immigration dept. or RTP references on it. They evidently just make up their own “rules” at each office.

I lot of guys went that way. The retirement extension is way easier than the marriage extension nightmare.
