After his meeting with pubic health executives, Mr Anutin said that each day the country logged less than 5,000 new COVID-19 cases and few than 50 new fatalities related to the disease. Besides, more than 140 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered. I say the above as it swept through the whole family, and I can say that I have had much worse in my life, twice from memory, 4 days in bed at much younger and healthier ages vs basically a head cold and headaches at 62 with Omicron, no bed time on this one. Lets move along to Monkey Pox ???? Edited June 1, 2022 by 4MyEgo 8 8

grandpa
I believe that only WHO can declare endemic status. Pandemic definition states :- : occurring over a wide geographic area (such as multiple countries or continents) and typically affecting a significant proportion of the population "How is a pandemic declared? The World Health Organization (WHO) is responsible for declaring when a global pandemic is occurring. The WHO does this by monitoring outbreaks of a disease and taking advice from international health experts. Australia and other countries are, however, likely to take steps to reduce the impact of an pandemic before the WHO makes a formal declaration." https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/what-is-a-pandemic

There's no reason whatsoever to listen to this unaccountable, unelected board of bureaucrats. In fact if anyone remembers WHO was LATE in declaring COVID a pandemic although at that point it had clearly meet the requirements. Also for anyone paying attention COVID has been endemic for well over a year now but where is the WHO in declaring it as such? 10

Popular Post HappyExpat57
As I posted recently on a similar topic, a Thai friend of mine was diagnosed with Covid about three weeks ago. She went to the hospital where they gave her pills and told her go home and self-quarantine. Covid is over. It's morphed into a strong flu. End the Thai Pass and let things get back to normal.

This also begs the question of how many of the other hospitalizations we've heard about over the pandemic have been serious. I never knew a single person first or second hand that was hospitalized with COVID and was actually sick so as far as I can confirm in my real life it was always just a flu. Just saying.

Unfortunately I lost a friend to Covid about a month ago. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. He didn't take the best care of himself so I believe that had something to do with it, but it started with Covid. I've heard stories like this and what seems to happen is there is some underlying morbidity and once they get a virus that gets into the lungs they get weakened and the rest of the system goes down also. Usually older people in their 70s-80s so age is a big factor also. I believe this how pneumonia kills also. RIP.
