What can we learn from Depp-Heard case

The courtroom drama between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard offers food for thought for Thais, should a famous Thai man and his former partner ever go head-to-head before the judges and in the full glare of the media. Thailand may reach that point one day, although for now, it’s a far-fetched scenario. Getting a free and fair trial with lots of experts from various disciplines taking the stand is even more remote.

 

Depp and Heard had to allow the public to look into parts of their lives that they might not be proud of. As they recalled their life together including unfavorable and painful sentiments, they had to face not just the conventional Court but the Court of Public Opinion. The “juries” were not just in the courtroom but also on social media.

Here are what we can learn from this case before their day comes.

 

Document any and all abuse wisely and reach out for help immediately

 

It is important that a victim of domestic abuse documents the incidents in the form of photos, medical records, expert opinions, and where possible, audio or video. Some abusive behaviors are beyond the average person’s expectations, and others are not physical but mental. Victims may need to present this evidence in court to seek justice.

I had just started a new relationship when the lady tried to snap my phone out of my hands, and yelled at me when I snapped it back from her, and accused me to have something to hide.

 

 I slept on my side on her bed that night, and checked out early and flew back home. This was in Norway, and I had no tolerance and still do not have for any kind of bullpie like that. I believe that have saved me for alot of trouble living by the qoute “If you are not sure, you are sure”! My skyding teacher teaching us when we should cut away the main parachute and pull the reserve.

We learnt that women (Heard) can lie and make up stories so yes taking photos and audio is a good idea, proves someone isn't lying

What we can learn, is  not to lie in court for a start. The good lawyers will catch you out.  I think it’s a good idea not to adopt this kind of practice in Thailand, because the court rooms would be saturated in 48 hrs. I had  neighbors  who made my life hell, screaming, fighting, breaking things ( ring a bell ?) the next day all love and smiles again. 

There is a big difference between this sort of behavior to verbal/ physical abuse ,  violence , rape.I also knew a lady who when she hit the bottle, smashed the place up a bit and end in tears. Both her , sober, and her husband were really lovely people. People like that need medical help, not court.

Just because they’re pretty, doesn’t mean they don’t lie. He should’ve set up some video of the witch in action, but guess he’s too chilled for all that.

Both are drama queens and don't mind airing their 'dirty linen' in public. Personally I found the whole saga nauseating.

Don't pretend people are guilty only because someone accuses them.

 

If person A thinks person B assaulted them then person A should go to the police, preferably right away after it happened. If there is evidence then person B will be prosecuted. And if there is enough evidence then person B will be punished.

 

And until there is a verdict then stay with the long tradition that someone is innocent until proven guilty.

 

The current drama, and many others, wouldn't exist if people would look at facts and not just accusations. If Amber had evidence that Johnny hit her then she should have told the police. 

But that is not what she did. Instead she told everybody what a bad guy he is and the media reported it and Johnny was suddenly the bad guy and he lost his jobs and his income. All because of accusations.

It's time to reverse this crazy trend that accusations are enough to ruin someone else life - without any consequences for the accuser who makes up these accusations.

 

And additionally it's time that some people, especially feminists, learn, that there are male and female abusers and victims. It should be obvious but it seems many feminists still think if they just repeat often enough that all women always tell the truth that we should somehow believe them.

 

If those feminists want to move forward and if they want to be takes seriously in the future then I suggest they publish something like this: Amber obviously lied. She is guilty. Some woman do lie. Don't believe all of them. Listen to people who claim they have been abused, encourage them to go to the police. And let the justice system do it's job.

This court cases wouldn't have happened without her wrong accusations. He lost his jobs and income because of her baseless accusations.

I am sure Johnny is not proud of everything he did in his life and I am sure he would have been happier not to see all this in court. But it was his only chance to clean his name and to be able to continue a "normal" life again.

For far too long in western countries it has been assumed that men are the aggressors and poor little women should be taken care of and nasty, violent men be condemmed.

 

Horrible feminist women have taught women to say the words, frightened and violent in order to get their way. My ex-wife manipulated the pro-women system to get at me when in truth i was the victim.

 

Lets hope this case at least shows that some/a lot of women lie

What an we learn ? What a strange question as surely when it comes to actors they have spent a lifetime pretending to be someone else and playing many parts, and of course their number one rule is any publicity is good publicity. so what is there to learn other perhaps than to ignore such trifle.

In the hyper PC, overly woke world we now live in, accusations need to be proven. Many men have been taken down by women who would not and could not prove anything they accused the man of. Cancel culture is alive and well in the West. 

 

I am not saying bad thing don't happen by bad men. But there needs to be a burden of proof on the women making those accusations.

True that. Doubts are often an ally. You were wise to walk away. Life is way too short to spend it with women who are neurotic, possessive and unworthy. Heard proved that theory!
