Daily News Thai Caption: Why don't the local authority do something 

 

Thai netizens were commenting in droves after pictures emerged on a popular Khon Kaen site of a roadside restaurant set up at a bus stop right outside some local government offices. 

 

"How can you (the local authority) do nothing when a bus stop is taken over like this?", was the sentiment.

 

@kha geuap phlik contained a highly facetious post talking about how this latest breach of the rules should be entered in a "What's Rotten about the Country of Khon Kaen" contest.

Thai caption: Our "country's" really in trouble

 

Apparently there was even a place for Lineman and Grab to stop and make home delivery. 

 

It was on Klang Muang road. 

 

Netizens joined in with some damning comments about the inactivity of the local authority - maybe it was just because it was a weekend, reported Daily News.

 

ASEAN NOW expects a reaction from the local authority to the stinging barbs...stay tuned.

The problem is if they take it away there will be another one along in a minute!

What an genius ideas, customers can sit undercover at the bus stop and eat while waiting for the bus, and those that get off can also get a meal. Did I mention what a genius idea it is ????

 

Should be more of these around the country soon, coming to a place near you.

Nah.. I would be surprised if the title said "Restaurant takes over a bus", then that would be something new.

 

Notice it's a night time photo ... does the bus even fun at night ?

And the daily rent collection paid to who?

The owners should get a grant from the government

It doesn't look very Bus-y.............................

There should be a total clean up of all kind of stalls, restaurants, tables and chair, or articles outside the shop on the pavement through all Thailand. It is for the roadsafety to use the pavement were it is meant for. If you want to use it. let them pay some money every month as a kind of rent with a permission.....

Roads are for cars

Pavements are for walking 

Shops are for selling things 

Its not difficult to understand 

If this happens only at night when the buses are not running (as is probably the case), then I don't see a problem with it.
