Good afternoon Mods, hope you're all having a great day!

Title is self-explanatory. I am specifically interested in sharing information about variety of strains, quality, price (of course), and eventually, consistency in all of the above over time.

Thanks!

Personally, i can't see a problem with this..

Countless threads in which the current price of beer in business establishments is discussed.. and usually complained about..

I will move this topic to Forum Support as it is not limited to Pattaya specifically.

As I see it, provided the discussion and sharing of information complies with the Forum Rules (which comply with Thai Law), then feel free to discuss.

However, as described in this news article posted this morning by the News Team, under Thai law, cannabis extracts containing more than 0.2 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) will continue to be listed as a narcotic, then discussion and sharing of information is illegal therefore not permitted on the Forum.

We do not intend to change any of our forum policies.

Entirely reasonable.  Thank you.

This is not meant to be a criticism of anything rather just a tongue in cheek query slightly diverse from the specific subject matter.   Is my understanding  correct that discussing issues that are not legal in Thailand are against forum rules ?

Given that the answer is in the affirmative then would it not be right to say that even discussing articles that cover issues such as jumping red lights,  speeding in excess of the speed limit and so many other items of a trivial, but illegal nature, should also not be discussed ?????

Your tongue-in-cheek query is probably best answered by re-reading this from the Forum Rules:

3) You will not post about activities or links to websites containing such material that are illegal in Thailand or any other country within ASEAN. This includes but is not limited to: gambling, betting, pornography, illegal drugs, fake goods/clothing, file sharing of pirated material, pyramid schemes, etc. Discussion of the above is permitted only as news items, but never as a "how to" topic. Discussions must not be in breach of local laws.

I highlighted the relevant section in bold for you.

Ok, then as Thailand is the only ASEAN country where marijuana plant is legal, I guess my new post in the Pattaya forum is against forum rules?

As far as I can see your topic has not mentioned any illegal activities yet, so is not in breach of the Forum Rules.

However this is a developing news story and the legalities are still not 100% clear.

From this morning's news bulletin:

9 hours ago, webfact said:

On June 9 (Thursday), cannabis and hemp finally become legal in Thailand and can be used not just for medical purposes but also as a cash crop.

Thais will be able to grow marijuana for personal use, while businesses can cultivate the herb on a large scale to produce cosmetics, food, and innovative products.

This might be interpreted as "people of Thai nationality only", so it's probably best not to make a big deal of it until the fine print is resolved.

The Thai government and the Royal Thai Police need to elaborate and be explicit as to what is and is not allowed.
