Firstly, I didn't say I'm believing what's been posted here.  The matter has been widely publicised both on Asean Now and other news sources.  Each one has quoted reliable Thai news media. I can't remember if the THC content quoted by the Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul was 0.02% or 0.2% but neither will get you high.

The Samsung Quantum Board with the latest LM301h LED's is a pretty good board but it has limited coverage - I have 2. Lumatek LED's have a much better coverage and work well- not sure if they are available in Thailand yet.

 

I would advise anyone using commercial strength LED lamps of any brand to exercise extreme caution and learn how to use them if they don't want to wreck an entire crop - like somebody 'I' know nearly did the first time.

I beg to differ - see a couple of posts up.  They only quote extracts but I'm 100% certain that if you were found to have plants at home that were producing weed with a normal THC content, you'd get nicked.  I won't be trying it unless that point is clarified.

 

Besides, what's the point of growing the plant if you can't use its product?  Do you think your average Somchai can extract resin and reduce the THC content?  Only a skilled chemist knows how to do that - and who'd want to?

 

My mate - who is your average Somchai, thinks the new law is wonderful and has set up a grow already - he will not believe that he won't be legally able to smoke what he produces. And it seems much of the Thai population thinks that cannabis has been fully legalised - poor them when plod comes calling.  Yet another source of Tea Money for the BIB.

You do know the legalised weed here is basically nothing more than cabbage, right?  It's got virtually no chemicals in it that will give you any high! 

 

What would be the point of growing it unless you want to make hemp bags or rope?

Someone has finally broached the $20,000 dollar question.

People legitimately want to understand the bounds of the current laws, as they should.

I'll admit, I've never used marijuana in Thailand even though it is legal in the US where I hold my residency.  I've used it in the US, but not here.  The risk hasn't been worth the reward.  I live here and have a family and I didn't need getting involved in the legal quagmire of a bust for personal use although I've very aware that in places like Pai it is sold and used and has never seems to draw the attention of police.  Well, maybe.  Illegality was a 'red line' for me.

But now that it's decriminalized?
I want to grow it, and like kratom, I'd like to find some for personal use.
So glad to see we are discussing it now.  Like in Chiang Mai. 

Fyi.  Medically its the most effective drug I've used for insomnia, and I have suffered chronic insomnia for years.

I used to smoke the "hemp rope" type back in the 1960s.
That was domestic.  Thai-Stick was one type we looked for.
Honestly - I don't know much of anything about quality nowadays.  But I'm not interested in anything that taked you into paranoia mode.  Something that is nice and average.

Start the seeds in Jiffy pellets .......... works every time.

Insert seed (pointy end down), and cover (use toothpick)

Put in a dark place with restricted access to air (I use an empty paracetamol pill box)

Look at it every day (no need to water), when the head pops up, plant Jiffy in a flower pot immediately and put in a sunny place.

These are ready for a bigger pot.

Isn't the idea behind the concept of " sea of green" that you grow many very small plants( with your available space maybe 15-20 plants)?If you grow the necessary plants from seeds it can become very expensive because you will need 15-20 seeds .  The advantage is the the grow phase is relatively short ( 15-20 days instead of 40-60)  If you use cuttings you will need another tent and light for the mother plant. Or do you mean " scrog/ screen of green) where you train the plants to grow through a net? With this method 2 plants with your available space sounds doable. Normally you should produce between 80-100 gr per plant.
