the smkers are not sitting on the fence, they have been living their lives all along irrespective of unclear legislation.

No doubt. As have I been living my life not touching ganja or even hanging out with people who do. You may have been living your life but i say you didn't understand what your life was worth if you were willing to go to prison and put your friends and family through hassles just to cop a buzz.

Would love a Pink Floyd coffee shop.

but it says "do not use in public" so sounds like that's off the table.

They were mentioning the public nuisance law.

I don't think you would be considered a public nuisance in one of those shops, but time will tell.

Yeuch... who would want to drink such a concoction!

Exactly. I actually was hoping there'd be at least a HINT of cannabis aroma. But nope...

I wouldn't count on that. What shall RTP do to get shamefully high bribes from tourist caught in the tourist areas.

This is a stunt from Anutin to get elected. The hemp they legalized is good for making ropes and clothes.

I live in Sweden that has some of the toughest drug laws in Europe and this kind of hemp has been legal all the time because nobody is so stupid that they would smoke it.

I feel sorry for all the misinformed tourists that will get caught

in this "Thai legal weed nonsense campaign".

Still early days.  I am sure the market will adjust over time.  Retail will have to compete with grannies selling it out of their back yard pretty soon so they won't have much choice.

With the THC content all that is going to happen is the pizza shops will be ripping off the tourists.

Cambodia is your best bet... +)

0.2% THC limit is still there for extracts.

No limit on growing plants if u reg.

Flowers legal.

THC legal

Hopefully buzz will bring tourism back.

Theoretically u can take weed buds on local flights.

Does someone know where that container weed shop is in Nonthabuti?

I would like to have a look

I would also suggest,  looking at the videos on Youtube reporting on all of this "legalization." You'll see the whole world is as confused as I am. You are scolded by Anutin on one report "If tourists think they can come to Thailand and get high they are wrong! We are legalizing cannabis strictly for health purposes!" Many news reports go along with the contradiction of 0.02% THC being the limit and yet show the menu which someone also posted above in this thread which is from one of the first cannabis shops, a menu which seems to suggest the shop sells regular 15-30% THC level weed. Another Australian television news spot first reports the "caveats" which it says are important to note and yet again its that the THC level shall not exceed 0.02%. Yet towards the end of the mini-program  there is an interview with a very pretty and well spoken Thai cannabis activist interviewed by the Aussie news service at her cannabis farm's grand opening event and when asked about the 0.02% she says that no it isn't true, there is no limit on THC and that Thailand is doing this because they want to bring tourists in. Yet, Anutin, one of the main instigators of this whole thing  is now vehement against ganja tourism. Really I would wait and see about all of this, there is no consensus as to what is what at this point.

A Nonthaburi food shop, which is in a converted cargo container, now offers hamburger with cannabis cheese and fried chicken topped with fried shredded cannabis leaves. The owner said that leaves are also used in the chicken marinade, as seasoning.

Kinda sad how stupid people are.

Delicious,? No

Get you high? No

Waste your money? Yes

Who would have thought cannabis would be legal in Thailand in the summer of 2022? What a pragmatic move! Science has managed to trump special interest.

In a few years the place will be like Amsterdam.

And way better for it!

This unworkable 0.2% THC nonsense is exactly that.

Once former non-users discover the joy of sex on dank weed edibles, which lasts for hours -both the sex and the weed-

The genie is never going back in the bottle.

I just wish I was twenty years younger to take full advantage of the new reality! Still, it's a great aphrodisiac at any age. ????

So just like last weeks "bars are now opening" joke.

Serious dank and even 'shrooms have been openly advertised and available in tourism beach party zones like Koh Lanta for years.

Chiang Mai has at least two "Rasta" bars and one of them paradoxically sells no weed -just much harder stuff that really is illegal- with complete impunity.

...What have you been smoking? ????
