The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack plans to seek testimony from conservative activist Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the panel’s chair said Thursday.

Why it matters: The decision comes after public and private wavering among committee members in recent weeks over the importance of Thomas’ role in Jan. 6 and former President Trump’s efforts to overturn the election.

Thomas played an active role in pushing then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to take measures to help overturn the 2020 election results, according to texts obtained by the Washington Post and CBS News.

Clarence Thomas and his wife are an embarrassment to the entire country.  Anyone with a shred of brains know that even a lowly county judge must recuse himself from cases that involve his wife..Thomas should  retire or resign immediately and would do so if he had an ounce of integrity.  But obviously he must have missed the courses on conflict of interests.  Maybe he was thinking too much about Anita Hill to be bothered with such trivial matters.

She has a rather checkered past with cults and conspiracies:

The untold story of Ginni Thomas' anti-cult activism — after she was 'deprogrammed'

Ginni Thomas became an anti-cult activist after being pulled out of a self-help program in the 1980s, she said in a video obtained by NBC News. Several people who knew her then are surprised by her apparent embrace of election conspiracies that originated with QAnon.

It seems she has gone down the rabbit hole again.  A little like an alcoholic falling off the wagon.

It’s not simply Ginni Thomas’s role in the attempted coup.

Her husband was the only SCOTUS judge to vote against the release of Mark Meddows’ text messages, 29 of which were from Justice Thomas’ wife.

This stinks of corrupt intent, Justice Thomas needs to be removed from the SCOTUS.
