Your favorite (foot) massage shop.

Featured Replies

My former favorite in the IMM Hotel Thaphae Chiang Mai across from the gate is out of business.

I have held off going to a new one - out of Covid fears - and not knowing where to go.

Are the masseuses wearing masks?

Do the customers wear masks?

I guess a small (single operator?) shop seems safest.

Or going for the full body massage in a private room, in which case I want a fair fight - no elbows thrown, no walking on my back, etc. - more like what they do with the foot massage which I guess could be called Swedish Massage.

Any suggestions?

There used to be a street foot massage place about halfway down Loi Kroh Road, opposite the hotel there. Don't know if it is still there, about 10 chairs IIRC.

Private massages in a room, more places than one could shake a stick at. I just tell them bow-bow, mai ow chuck wow.

Opposite the Ramming hotel ?

Still open, some of the girls went back to the village during the pandemic and some stayed .

There is a woman who sits outside a bar a few doors down , she offers everything in a room upstairs

Does anyone else know a good place to recommend?

I'm not certain whether you're willing to travel, but Sum Bamboo in the Ruamchok Plaza might work for you. It's inside, but very spacious and airy. The therapists are always masked, are well-trained and are skilled masseuses.

Look for one with older women, in their fifties and sixties.

They know what they are doing, the shops with young pretties are usually clueless, and catering for a different market.

Can't help you with a specific location, sorry.
