From the start of the monsoon in April to date, the southern Binh Duong Province has recorded 4,867 dengue fever cases, up 17.6 percent against the same period last year.

 

Of those cases, eight have died, Nguyen Hong Chuong, director of Binh Duong’s Health Department, told a provincial meeting Wednesday.

 

Binh Duong, a major industrial hub bordering Ho Chi Minh City, has detected 920 dengue fever hotspots this year.

that is high percentage of deaths. In thailand it's around 1/1000 infections.

So far deaths in thailand are 2, that is from the beginning of the year (not from the beginning of wet monsoon). looks like a huge difference between those countries
