Tragic Train Accident Claims Life of Motorcyclist while on Phone
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod A tragic accident unfolded on March 8 in Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat, as a 53-year-old woman, identified as Bee, was struck and killed by a freight train while riding her motorcycle near a railway crossing. Bee was reportedly talking on her mobile phone at the time of the accident. Emergency services, including police, medical personnel, and the Pracha Ruamjai Foundation, were quick to respond to the scene. They found Bee's body beneath the train, having suffered severe injuries. Her motorcycle, a white and black Honda, remained extensively damaged, a grim testament to the violent collision. The freight train, traveling from Kantang district with intentions to switch tracks at Thung Song Junction, had slowed as it approached the crossing. Yet, despite the train driver's repeated horn blasts, Bee seemed unaware of the impending danger. Eyewitnesses supported the driver's account, noting Bee's use of her mobile phone and apparent oblivion to the approaching train. The accident has prompted police to gather evidence, aiming to implement legal actions aligned with the Railway Act. Amidst the investigation, Bee's body was returned to her family, who are now preparing for traditional funeral rites. This tragic incident stands as a somber reminder of the perils of distraction while navigating busy roads, especially near railway crossings, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-03-10 -

'without any money' - does that just mean 'cash'... or cash and cards ? Could he have access to a Bank account i.e. take his Bank Card with him ? and if so, can it be tracked if he used it ?
