A senior Thai doctor has warned people not to underestimate the threat posed by the COVID-19 Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants and has recommended additional booster shots, claiming that they can help ease serious consequences of infection by the mutated virus.

Probe ordered into whether Sutthisan police ignore illegal gambling

A fact-finding committee has been set up by the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) to find out whether police in the Sutthisan area of Bangkok had deliberately turned a blind eye to illegal gambling, which was uncovered during a raid by the MPB on the night of June 24th/25th.

Thais warned not to take cannabis or hemp products to some countries

The Thai embassies in Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam have advised the Foreign Ministry to warn Thai people not to bring cannabis, hemp or their extracts when they visit these countries, as they may face heavy fines, jail or even death.

Thai health minister catches COVID-19 after overseas trip despite 6 vaccine shots

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul tested positive for COVID-19, using a rapid antigen test, upon his return from abroad on Sunday, even though he has already received six doses of vaccine, with the last one being administered on June 13th.
