Boring already arrived. Being stuck in passport lines is the very definition of boring. Feel sorry for those who voted no and now have to pay the price for the idiocy.

Ah! Idiocy. The insults follow as rapidly as ever.

"The Project Fear" campaign, which is how Brexiters characterized Remainers warning about what would ensue after Brexit, was about what would happen in the future. Well, the future is now the present. So it's no longer about fearing the future, but rather mourning the present. And of course, there is the dubious benefit of schadenfreude as in "I told you so".

Although these delays are not caused by Brexit

You expect 100% protection. Maybe the UK should up its payments. Although the law of diminishing returns does apply

What is France doing to prevent illegal small boat crossings to UK?

“It is very difficult for the police to stop people from crossing. We are talking about 150km of coastline, not a port,” he said. “The more money the UK gives to France to militarise the border, the more migrants will turn to traffickers to try to make it across – because they have no legitimate way of doing so.”

Well yeh, rubber dinghies queued up on the beach being inflated by folk in fancy dress is incredibly hard to spot.... ????..............????

Of course there are legitimate ways. The traffickers are themselves illegal and have no interest in them

If the situation was reversed, I'm sure the gendarmes would suddenly find higher levels of efficiency. Non?

The new rules were introduced two and a half years ago , why are there suddenly delays now ?

It was the French staff not turning up for work which caused the delays and the Frenches technology broke  .

Brexit rules have been in place for 30 months now , you cannot blame Brexit for your own Countries failings , besides , you should have measures in place to deal with any delays connected to Brexit

Covid stopped mass travel for 2 years, this was the beginning of school holidays in the UK so authorities expected a mad rush.

Brexit places cumbersome checks on passports, stamps and adding up days spent in the EU.

End of freedom of movement.

Well, then they should be just as easy to spot when they arrive in the UK, right?

What don't you understand about 150 kilometers of coastline?

Now what do you think drones are for when a problem.....? ????

Yes, but the French should have stopped the many months of crossings in the first place.

Tell us why they haven't....?  ????

Simple agreements COULD (have) been made, but we told the EU we didn't want any.

This chaos is what the Brexit voters actually voted for.

I don't think all Brexit voters actually voted for that. Remember that the Tories claimed that trade would be frictionless after Brexit and that the EU would back down. Lots of voters believed that.

From Iran.....?   ????

I have no idea what you're on about. Is this some displaced reference to drones from another post? If so, is Iran the only manufacturer of them?

I maintain that leaving the EU was an idiotic move by the UK, I have not called anyone an idiot so do try to calm down.

Sheeeesh, if you're that easily riled what will happen when you're forced to sit for hours in a passport line?

Depends on where you come from......Are you from one of the countries the UK was bolstering with cash......????

Only goes to show how thick a lot of voters are, in that case. It isn't like they weren't warned...

As someone else pointed out, there's a saying that Brexit is a mood, not a policy. People ruled by emotions tend to do unintelligent things. It doesn't mean that they are basically unintelligent.

Lets keep it in perspective .

Its not an end to "free movement" , there have just been some temporary delays , mainly due to checking travellers vaccination status and flight cancellations

It's funny. The EU country that Brexiters seem most fond of is Hungary, which on a per capita basis is the biggest receiver of EU cash.

How do you know that they aren't using drones already?  It's still 150 kilometers of coastline. Can drones be constantly watching all of it.

Drones would be no use, they're afraid of barking dogs. Liz Truss said so in Parliament.

You are living in the past .

Move on and get into the present

Brexit was years ago

But why would they waste a lot of resources on that when you Brits can easily pick them up when they arrive? It's a bit like shooting fish in a barrel, isn't it?

So, no probs! You're out of the EU and have full control over immigration (like you had before leaving) so all is good!

Because they were illegal immigrants in France, you know, have a camp site that the French ignore.......????
