Tesco is not a discount store in Thailand. Best not to buy fruit or veg in Thai supermarkets. They were 40bht/Kg at my local Sunday market.

Not quite, UK for decades has very competitive supermarket prices, now with inflation prices are up same everywhere. Thailand on the other hand not very competitive, probably price fixing going on

Supply and demand, lack of competition (of imported avocadoes)? As long as people pay that much for avocadoes, why should they be cheaper?

Indeed, when you remember that both major supermarkets, Makro and 7-11 owned by the same company- a situation MMC U.K. would forbid- it’s a virtual monopoly.

Don't forget Lotus's ,they have it all covered Manufacture ,Wholesale

and Retail ,

My wife found some long thin avocados locally at the Buffalo market - San PaTong....They were great, tasty & were 60B a kilo....

I was pleasantly surprised given the high expectations & poor results we experienced with some of the Haas avocado look a likes....

Can you post a picture what they look like and I’ll look for some. Local are hard to determine when ripe and seems spoilage. HAAS is my favorite when in S. California they were decent prices… one of the imported brands here seem to have roots instead of fruit.

People in the UK are completely broke.

Only a small percentage.

The media would like you to think it is everyone but in reality it is only a small minority. Usually those on the BBC have your say section that constantly whinge instead of going out and doing something about it.
