Popular Post webfact Posted August 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2022 by Tanakorn Sangiam BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai government is capitalizing on the popularity of Thailand’s Khao Soi dish, which has gained a top rank as the best soup on a culinary review website. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society today arranged a presentation at the government house promoting Thailand Post’s services to support Thai-made goods, in which a local dish named Khao Soi was highlighted due to its popularity. At this event, Minister of Digital Economy and Society Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn led Thailand Post executives to meet with Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha. Khao Soi is a noodle soup dish typically associated with the northern region of Thailand. It has recently been listed number one on the 50 Best Soups list published by a recipe collection and food review website TasteAtlas. The Prime Minister said it was admirable for a Thai dish to be promoted, which helps strengthen the country’s soft power through cuisine. He said the government is willing to support Thai dishes on a global stage through various channels, as well as promote the country’s digital industry. Thailand Post has adopted digital technologies on its e-commerce platform ThailandPostMart to improve services and competitiveness. Customers can now conveniently place orders for food items and get them delivered right to their doorsteps with this online service. nightfox Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I'm a big fan of Khao Soi, but I always thought that it was a curry not a soup? 2

daveAustin Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Khao Soi touted as Thailand’s soft power Wonder if it could be used to pacify Putin!
JonnyF Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Maybe Milli could eat some during her next performance? That would boost domestic sales for around a week as "Netizens go crazy for Khao Soi". Of course, this "soft power" won't extend beyond Thailand's borders. Never does. 1

Rimbuman Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Most of Khao Soi is badly prepared with condensed milk instead of coconut milk, heaps of sugar and non filtered water. When Khao Soi is cooked properly it kan be heavenly good. 1

sqwakvfr Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Just because S. Korea used K-POP, Korean Dramas, Samsung Phones etc etc as it’s “Soft Power” does not mean “lightning will strike twice”.
Aussieroaming Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 I love Khao soi, it's just too bad that so many places make <deleted> renditions of it. I'm sure that real Khao soi cooked over a wood fire in the middle of winter would be sublime.
tubby johnson Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Soft stool power, more like. It's one spicy dish! But I love it.
proton Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Like the UK govt 'capitalising' on fish and chips, pathetic.
The Hammer2021 Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 It's quite difficult to find kao soi and other CM dishes in Pattaya
Bassosa Posted August 17, 2022 Posted August 17, 2022 Whether you like it or not, Thailand has tons of soft power. The cuisine is one thing, the people are the other aspect of that immense soft power. No I don't mean the officialdom that seems to do everything in their power to erode that soft power. But you see, the average tourist deals doesn't deal with the corrupt officials or politicians. They only see the good people of Thailand. The people that carry this nation (against all odds).
