Yet to the Thai's who go to Cambodia they would flock to an area like that on the coast either in Chonburi, or in Prachuap Kiri Khan.  The seafood buffets which can be imported from Myanmar on the southern border pass at Singkhon would be a win win.....The Chinese would come in droves....

"The Chinese would come in droves...."

Its just possible that might put some folks off?

I am not visiting, when walking down the street you have masks on,

but sat next to each other no masks needed,

????????????????

Your point is that because folks will still wear masks you will give Thailand a miss.....well that's being a true adult

Why? because the buffet issues or the fact that they will overtake the casinos as they love to gamble.  You have me confused.

But isn't a well established fact that Covid is most dangerous after 10pm, guaranteed to infect all after 12am, and deadly to even the vaccinated after 2am until 6am???

Get with the program boys and keep things shut down.

Get with the program and stop banging on with such silly off topic comments.....topic is 4am closing!

I remember when it used to be 4 AM before.  Then they changed it to 2 AM and they had lots of arguement to prove it was VITAL that bars closed earlier.  Then it was midnight closing time and I think even 11.00 pm in Udon Thani with the storm troopers coming around nightly to check (except for the clubs owned by police).  In my opinion it killed Udon Thani as a place to visit with bars closing left right and centre.  But it was all VITAL.

Now its vital that they stay open longer and they have a strong arguement too.  Kinda feels like arguing with a woman lol.

Boy if it is money they want then just open the doors for all tourists to arrive with a Visa Exempt, take the shackles off and let the venues stay open 24 hours, make it just like Las Vegas.  Add in the casinos and the folks will stream on in

So you are promoting the idea that Thailand become the prostitute of Southeast Asia?  I think the Thai government is doing enough of that.  I wouldn't want that in my home country, sure would not want it here.  Need to promote honest business, not further corruption.

His message was quite clear - enough with the pandemic already, Thailand must not be left behind in ASEAN and the country's economy was more important than local concerns like noise or the opinion of doctors.

.... or the health and welfare of those trying to drive to Work after a night on the Booze, with little or no sleep, and still very intoxicated.

And if lucky enough to get to their Employment without killing themselves or others on the roads, will be little or no use at all to the Employer as well as being a danger to all other workers around them.

We had the rants of one Millionaire Minister Yesterday, and now we have the Lunatic Rants of a Billionaire Today.

These people are so out of touch with reality, they must walk around all Day with their Heads stuck firmly up their own exhaust pipes.

Until there is no corruption there will be no honest businesses.  They want there cake and they want to eat it too.  If that is so then open up no holds barred, no closing times.  Plenty of folks want that.........

Thailand can become a global hub for all night ravers, stoners, magic mushroom eaters, gamblers and whoremongers.  The skills and competitive edge are already in place. It just needs a friendly, anything goes, regulatory framework.

AH! 20 years of pride and prejudice finally being redressed.

So from one government which shot the drug dealers and closed clubs early to 'protect the nation's youth' - through to another government which tried to 'zone' the country and closed nightclubs at midnight - and finally through to an eventual bottom line which goes " $$@**& this, we're broke, we need cash".

I'm glad I stuck it out for 25 years. It's been hard at times. But finally now we've progressed back to where we were a quarter of a century ago - except that you can now smoke weed, too.

Expect prostitution to be legalised any time soon - they need to screw tax out of all those millions of prostitutes which didn't exist until someone realised they’ve been a cash crop all along.

Quality time.... But in broad daylight there is a alcohol ban and restrictions on special days to prevent alcohol abuse. In movies we blurr and pictures on facebook are forbidden as it is seen as advertising for using alcohol, but drink at night, drive on bad roads, with no lights, be tired and get an accident to be serious injured or be killed, that is no problem.

It seems to be finally dawning on them why people used to come to Thailand.

It was fun, cheap, and there were cute girls. Places opened all night, you could stagger home at sunrise with a beer/girl in hand and spend the day snoozing by the pool or on the beach (without being arrested for smoking) before doing it all again. People were friendly, smiles abound.

Now, Khao san (for example) has been gentrified (ruined) and all the interesting stalls removed. Bars shut at midnight. Police raids and urine tests. Everyone grumpy wearing masks or giving the evil eye to those who don't. Vaping banned. Photos of alcohol banned.

Time to relax the rules and get back to the fun place it used to be. Thailand is not a high class destination and never will be. Drop the fake puritanism and the stuffy, pompous, arrogant attitude and accept what you are.

I agree.. Khao San Rd was never my favorite place, but if they can do it there, then they can open Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza and get back to basics.  Having fun on your vacation.  Kudo's to this guy.

So the extra couple of hours is going to save the country?

If I wanted to live in a place like Vegas I'd live there, I don't thanks.

Why do people come here and want to make it like somewhere else?
