Beware,the Indians have arrived

Featured Replies

Everybody seemed to complain about the Chinese, blocking the pavements, spitting etc,but jeepers they were great compared to the influx of Indians, just back from town, they just walk out into the roads, shout all the time and i could not believe how rude they were.

What do you think?

You should have seen them on the train yesterday !  Seemed friendly enough to me...

These photos of India's overcrowded railways will make you ...

Oh no the bars are going to run out of straws and coca cola.

I have many friends in India having worked there for a number of years, they and their families are all 100% nice people (and two are members of Bangalore Cricket Club so I can watch T20 and have a beer and a bite which the cheap-seats can't).

BUT

Their tourist brethren are another animal altogether!!

Whilst working in Singapore I stayed at a mid-range hotel which had Indian coach tourists, they were waiting like gannets (or Chinese tourists) for the brekkie buffet to open, literally seconds after opening it was like WW3 had started.

I was lucky and as a regular long-stayer I was invited to the "executive" dining area upstairs (got free laundry too).

I lived in China before. (Mainland) Chinese, men and women alike, really spit wherever they are and a lot! The men also pee anywhere at street corners, and they will even take a dump if no-one's looking... That's why Chinese tourists (among numerous other reasons) are not popular in most countries, incl. Hong Kong...

Got to be better than the bus loads of Chinese licking the bus windows.

Also an amazing experience going to a sea food buffet with that lot in house. :shock1:

Well at least the Chinese can certainly put the Thais in their place for the amount of food they can get on one plate at a buffet

Very soon in Pattaya one will be run over, maybe killed, they have a death wish walking in the road and crossing the road, they've taken over bottom Pratumnak 2nd road, sai India

Porter at the Bella Vista Hotel in Bkk told me years ago he hated them as they often brought little cookers with them and stank the place out cooking in the rooms, as well as damaging the carpets.

Yes very talented spitters, i recall a chinese woman on beach road spat from 6 foot away up and down into a green wheelie bin truly skillful.

Laos women are big spitters also, i was on a bus once there for a few hours and they were constantly gobbing out the window along with being sick, very windy roads

What are the Indians saying about the f-rang expats?

Nice things I'm sure, you don't think their walking habits are dangerous?

They are probably saying why do they have a bottle each instead of one and 6 straws

reminds me of an old saying ..... money can buy a lot of things, almost everything,  but it can not buy you class and nobody told them that

I miss the Chinese.

Not the tour busses and groups.

But Chinese independent travelers had grown quite a bit here before Covid.
