Good morning.

Just wondering, is it possible for my wife, a Thai national with a valid visa for the Schengen area,

to board a plane and also enter a country, ie Germany, on a one way ticket?

Thank you and have a nice day out there.

Does she already have a Schengen Visa, she would need to show a return ticket to apply for a visa?

I think it's unlikely that she a carrier would board her with only a one way ticket, due to the possibility that she could possibily be refused entry at the border of the Schengen Area, and they would be resonsible for returning her.

Is there a reason she only wants to purchase a one way ticket?

What I understand about Schengen Visa's you have to Enter the Country that gave your Wife the visa in the 1st place.

So if you applied at the Germany Embassy you enter via Germany.

The port of entry is a major parameter in the Schengen visa. It is the country that is your first destination in the region. More often than not, you will have to apply to the country which is your port of entry. As per the Schengen visa rules first port of entry is usually the country that issues your visa.

Re: One Way ticket, your wife may be asked to show the Documents, at the port of Entry, you needed when applying for the visa in the 1st place.

If she then only can show a one-way ticket, no idea what is going to happen.

But as @theoldgit already said above, Boarding the plane in the 1st place will already be a struggle
