Pattaya is planning to celebrate a halal food festival at the Nongprue Walking Street from September 30th to October 2nd.

The press conference to announce the event was held at the Nongprue Municipality office today, September 22nd, and was attended by many Pattaya officials.

According to the attendees, the halal food festival is a celebration of food, culture, and faith with the goal of generating additional income for locals whose livelihoods have been impacted by the distressing COVID-19 pandemic.

Some people prefer not to subsidize religion by being forced to contribute to the cost of ritual slaughter and certification by religious authorities when they buy food items in the grocery stores. Not that people aren't entitled to worship as they choose, just don't force everyone else to support this.

It is sometimes impossible to find certain products in the grocery stores that don't have halal certification.

Yes, and the way they kill these animals is very cruel.

Agree! Although I find trying to get halal pork extremely difficult!

Cutting the throats of all those poor little prawns is sickening....

This is a concerning issue for some.

It's cruel, savage and barbarick.

Shouldn't be made fun of.

Where's Nongprue Walking Street?

Perhaps they'll have Mataba.

It is a large sub district of Banglamung. On the East side of The Railway Line Bypass Rd, Huay Yai to the South, Nong Plalai to the North. I  think it also used to incorporate Pattaya City in the past.

I know, but it's huge. Where's the walking street?
