double checking documents needed at BKK immigration

Featured Replies

Hi, I will be arriving in BKK next Wednesday with a Type O Retirement 90 day Visa stamped in my British passport. I am just checking what other documents are needed at immigration. I have copies of the Visa, my passport, Health Vaccination Certificate and AirBnB (Hua Hin) rental copy. Plus about 30,000THB in cash. Anything else?

Also what documents are needed to open a Bangkok Bank account in Hua Hin (where I will live)? I have the Type O Visa, plus rental contract.

Thanks for your help, I couldn't do this without your advice.

You will only need your passport with the valid non-o visa in it. They will likely not ask to see the 20k baht and certainly not a copy of your rental agreement.

After October 1st their is no covid 19 restrictions.

It is hard to predict what the bank may want since it can vary from bank to bank. Some may want a certificate of residency that you can get at your local immigration office.

Exactly why are you going to immigration?

You have a non O that has provided a 90 day stamp.

Is your intention to obtain a 12 month extension using money in bank?

You don't currently have a bank account.

Best get your running shoes on.

Edit: disregard my silly reply.

BKK = Airport.

Hey guys, I just want to thank you for all the help you gave me over the past 7 months. Couldn't have done this without your advice. I am happily settling into retirement in Hua Hin and was granted a one extension on my Non O.
Life is looking good.
