I have an old (13 years) Panasonic home theatre that I also use to play music as it has a CD/DVD player as well as a USB port. My question is, if I plug a Bluetooth receiver dongle into the USB port will I be able to transmit music from my PC? I can play music through the USB port using a flash drive, so will a dongle work?

Used with Window 7, on two laptops quite old ones I must say.

The normal bluetooth usb dongle which needs a driver will not work.

But I think this bluetooth receiver will work eg. USB Bluetooth Audio Music Wireless Receiver Adapter | Lazada.co.th

You plug it into the stereo system usb and then you transmit audio from your PC or android phone BT after connecting to the BT dongle receiver.

Depends how your audio equipment is designed, but you may or may not have hum during playback and briefly thump powering on the devices.
