henrik2000 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Hello, do you know of a massage place in Jomtien (preferred), Pattaya or Bangkok where the therapist walks on your back (thighs, bum, shoulders)? This may be one individual therapist's special skill regularly done by all therapists in one establishment, with high handrails installed I believe this is more usual in Vietnam, but I won't be there. But if you happen to know other places in Thailand or Laos, I'd be interested too. Also in how you felt afterwards. Thanks! PS Another thing i like is a heated dry towel over my eyes when lying on my back. It seems rare in Thailand.
Popular Post proton Posted October 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 23, 2022 I would not trust any of them, almost none are really trained properly. Two days course at Wat Po does not mean they are. 4 1
Sparktrader Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Lots of Thais do it but only trust the good ones. They need a railing to hang on to or ceiling. Best way to crack the muscles. 1

Popular Post BigStar Posted October 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 23, 2022 Thai ladies have become too fat to do that anymore. Very foolish to let any of them walk on your back anyway. Back problems and subsequent surgery to try to fix them--you really don't need. 4
2baht Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I've heard Jackboot Jao is good! Sometimes she takes the boots off! 1
scubascuba3 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 There was a pom pui girl in a massage shop on Buakhao who used to like walking on peoples backs. Go in and ask. X marks the spot 1
bkk6060 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Any place will do it I bet just ask they would love to walk on your back. But, as mentioned could be dangerous here a cracked vertebrae or cartilage can ruin your life. 2
2 is 1 Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Chiang Khan has massage places where old granmoms walk in back. But i think every village find some granny who can do that. Is that good who knows, my son always walk on my back and that feels good. 2
Popular Post aldriglikvid Posted October 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 23, 2022 Admittedly, I'm one of those who thinks it feels great and experienced no problems "so far". However, I only choose this option if the girl is a lightweight and if there's a ceiling to hold on to. Remember, Thais will say "yes" if you ask them even if they can't do it properly. OP: there's no place that does it as a standalone service, however - I've never been declined when asking for it during a Thai massage. In any of my years here. 3 1

KhunBENQ Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Bring you bathroom scale. More than 40 kg, decline 1 1

I like old masseuses but 65 is pushing it... my FIL in the village would have the nephews do it... probably because they were 10 years old and well trained...
Kwaibill Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 I had a Burmese lady friend in college who did this for me a couple of times, but she was very petite and I was very strong. Wouldn't chance it at 68, unless something like the thirteen year old daughter of a masseuse I used who was training specialy to massage infants. I think I could manage a twenty five kilo kid walking on me. Thinking about the chiropractor I used to go to who had hands about the size of Smithfield hams; best practitioner ever.

thaibeachlovers Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 Any of them will do it ( it's not rocket science ) but if you can't find a small one make them only use one foot unless they have a rail to hang off.

I had it done many, many times, and no problems. Like I said if worried just let them do it with one foot only. 1

simon43 Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 My mad ex was great at walking on my back for massage - it really helped to alleviate my lower back pain. However, she weighed 33 Kg. I wouldn't want any of the fatty girls in the massage shop to do that!

CharlieH Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 If you want to search for a "proper" practitioner you are looking "Ashiatsu" which means feet, as opposed to shiatsu which means fingers. Personally the latter is better and safer, if they know what they are doing in that style of massage. 2
