A COUPLE OF the Thai air force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon jets are currently exercising a reconnaissance mission over Thai airspace in northwestern border areas following Myanmar’s airborne attacks on a Kachin rebel base in northernmost Myanmar.

 

Air force spokesman VM Prapat Sonjaidee confirmed today (Oct. 27) the F-16 fighters from Wing 4 in Takhli are conducting their recon mission exercise over Thai airspace in Mae Hong Son and Tak in northern and western Thailand which share borders with Kayah and Kayin states of Myanmar and in Kamphaengphet, Uthai Thani and Nakhon Sawan in upper central Thailand.

 

Thai villagers in those border areas were assured of safety and advised to remain calm as the F-16s were conducting their recon exercise twice a day, according to the air force spokesman.

They are probably flying the missions on behalf of Tatmadaw.

 

Reporting on withdrawal/reinforce/supply activity of pro-federation forces using border area and opposing Tatmadaw .

 

That way no more (one already) compromising/embarrassing incursions into Thai airspace by Myanamar aeroplanes for media to pick up on.

 

 

I'm surprised that the RTAF still has F16s that actually work......

So the Myanmar junta took Thailand's junta leader Prayut at his word. As Prayut has said, the two countries enjoy good relations (my note: as does Thailand with Russia).

What is more innocent than Mynamar jets using Thai air space to circle around to make staffing runs against schools and civilians in Mynamar?

at least they are patrolling 2 x per day, and probably advising their Myanmar friends about the flightplan - same system as a RTP raid on illegal premises.......

Could just use satellites instead of fast jets - rental that is.
