Koh Siray, Mueang Phuket – More than 100,000 kilograms of garbage have been dumped on Koh Siray for more than 20 years, at least according to a social media watchdog group.

The issue has been brought to light by the Facebook page ‘Monsoon Garbage Thailand’ earlier this week.

Mr. Waranyoo Boonsit, the admin of the page, told the Phuket Express that this area is near the Phuket Fishing Market. He has reported the issue to relevant government offices about this garbage three years ago.

They cleaned up the garbage in one small area. However, there is still a significant amount of the area nearby not cleaned.

Garbage is a Thailand thing.

Last time I went to Samet it was a garbage tip end to end, despite being a national park.

I visited a waterfall beauty site ( right next to a national park ) south of Lamphun, and it was a garbage tip. Seems locals just don't care.

Thailand is a tip,  end to end

Can't they find a better place to dump all the used condoms from farang and bar girl interactions? Yeesh!

haha, more like 20 month. hint khun Waranyoo Boonsit, get up early and stroll around the market, you maybe find out where your rubbish comes from.

And you hear so many times  Thai's saying how they love their country, if so, why  destroy it by throwing garbage    on  every piece if vacant land,  and there are nearby blue public garbage cans

TAT Announcement for quality tourists aka millionaires,

Do not believe all the negative news that TAT Vietnam is spreading about Thailand. Look at the positive. Here you see a picture of the entrance to Kathu waterfall. If you look closely you will notice something! That is right: NO entrance fee at all. You do not have to pay 10 times the Thai price as the waterfall is free to visit for all, even for white people.

Neither do most foreigners. How many here reading this pay the local garbage collection tax and have their garbage taken away by the Tessabaan?

Just about everyone here in the village, including myself, pay the monthly fee for the weekly rubbish collection.

It starts with garbage education.

No trash talking.

Bin there, seen it, not done it.

And then "so what"? Ah love that song from Metallica.

Today we do 8000000 TONS/year plastic in the oceans and we are only worried about CO2 in the sky.

Fish, birds filled up with plastic and dead.

Said is, that 5 islands as big as Texas are floating around in the oceans.

Some courageous people are trying to get plastic out of the oceans again, doing a 150000 ton, which is just a drop, considering we drop again in 8000000 tons.

To me it looks like bringing water to the sea.

Currents could also change due to that and the eco system is destroyed. The whole planet earth is one eco system.

You know, we also get our oxygen from the oceans. Not only trees.

Yes, we are on a road to nowhere.

But first lets get the number of people down on this planet, as it is too much for this planet.

Or they already try? With inventions like SARS, MERS, Covid?
