Former President Trump wanted to fire the former White House chief usher for helping the Bidens move into the executive mansion, former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

 

Why it matters: Grisham's account indicates that Trump's desire to delay or prevent the transition of power after the 2020 election affected traditionally nonpolitical White House positions.

 

• The detail was included in a transcript of Grisham's interview with the select committee that was released Thursday along with several other interview transcripts, including one from Donald Trump Jr.

Be sure of it.  They have been depending on the Dems to finish him off (Mitch has been heard speaking of it) but they don't have the guts to help -- how many would have liked to vote for the two impeachments?  Spineless wimps.

He was fired just before the Trumps left the White House.

I believe her. Just judge Trump’s record setting turnover of high and low level staffs that were either fired or resigned. So this news is not a surprise. Just a pattern of his egoistic behavior that want total obedience and pettiness. She also was in a position in the administration to see all those shenanigans.

Don't see any evidence refuting what she said. The Jan 6 committee characterised Orlando's testimony as unconvincing and he claimed to have forgotten almost everything except his own name. Not even republicans are pushing back against her. Spaghetti monster anyone?

The funny steering wheel story has not been confirmed. However, the most important, that Trump was angry and wanted to be driven to the Capitol has been corroborated by other witnesses and evidence.

Maybe he's one of those guys who not only believes a Trump staff member, but also thinks the fact that Trump actually did fire the usher just before Biden's inaugurations supports the contention that Trump was not happy with him.

Just because you don't see doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

 

I am quite sure that if the Jan 6 Select committee were told about it, then someone would have investigated it. If the report was false then she would have been charged with an offence.

Testimony by people that dislike Trump is not necessarily factual. Unless he is actually on record as saying something it's only an opinion as to what his "intentions" were. For all we know he could have been havin' a laff.

 

BTW far as I know, intentions alone are not a crime. One has to do something to be guilty.
